We, at AiS, believe that scientific knowledge should be accessible to all. Thus, we welcome the republication of our content under the following guidelines. This document ("Republish") sets forth the general guidelines, disclosures, and terms of republication of the africainscience.com content.

REPUBLICATION OF AiS CONTENT

The individual webpages of our website can be linked to external sites by hyperlink(s). Reports, graphics and text created by AiS are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 license (CC BY-ND). Photographs, illustrations and other art used within AiS pages are not covered by this license, and it is the responsibility of the republisher to arrange permission to use these images. Our content may only be used editorially. No commercial or promotional use is allowed without the prior approval or permission from AiS. Graphics that include AiS Badge and AiS index (AiSi) can be republished on pages with advertisements, but not to sell ads specifically to align with our articles. Our content is not allowed to be used on websites designed only to improve rankings on search engines or solely to attract revenue from network-based ads. Please notify info@africainscience.org when an article is republished, and provide an accessible hyperlink(s) and/or PDF of the republication.

All republished articles must include AiS in the byline or simply at the top of the article. Here are examples: “This content was originally created/published by AiS.”; “This article originally appeared in AiS on [insert date of publication]”; “Africa in Science (AiS) is an online platform and ThinkTank that tracks, analyses, visualises and evaluates the scientific research output of academic and research institutes in Africa."; “The AiS logo and a link back to our home page or the original article: Contact info@africainscience.org to receive the logo”.

EDITING OF AiS CONTENT

AiS Material cannot be edited except to reflect relative changes in time, location, or editorial style. Headlines of graphics may be altered with the prior approval of AiS. Excerpts and screenshots from AiS must remain intact, preserve the meaning and context of the work. All hyperlinks that clearly direct users to the original page/article on AiS website must be included. Substantial edits and requests to translate AiS content must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, subject entirely to AiS’ discretion. AiS must be provided access to the republished content.
